Kitchen

I have finally taken some photos of our kitchen to upload. We are still waiting on our blinds and lighting to be installed. I will update when they have been completed.
We made a few changes to the kitchen plan on the Sonata. 
- We repositioned the fridge so that it was next to the window rather than the pantry. 
- Added a ducted range hood and bulkheads as well as an overhead cupboard to the fridge. 
- Removed the tiles from the wall against the island bench and extended the tile height of the splash back to go all the way to the overhead cupboards. 
- We also changed the pantry door to the LIN 1 style
- Upgraded our cooktop to the Omega Tuscany gas cooktop with wok burner

 

 

Issues after handover

Here is the list of issues we had with the house at handover. I will keep listing as the 90 day wait goes on. 

- Hole in wall at front entrance (guessing someone opened the door before the stopper was installed

- Gas heating point not exposed (plumber had to cut holes in the walls to find the positioning as tilers tiled over the mark on the floor where it was)

- Cracked tile in laundry

- Sliding doors sticking

- Most of the internal doors not fitted properly (keep banging when they are shut)

- Rangehood not installed

- Roof insulation not all rolled out (We asked the guys installing our ducted to check for us)

- Some bricks were loose around windows (fixed but still have mortar on bricks that need to be cleaned off)

- Top of kitchen cupboards not sealed to bulkheads

- Pieces of rio stuck into the ground

- Plastic cover missing off powerpoint in pantry

Paint:

- Patches just above skirting boards

- Paint dripped on tiles

- Scuff marks on walls

Post Handover

My last post was from when we got locked out so we couldn't really document much after that. It took 8.5 weeks for them to complete the painting, tiles carpet and garage door etc. We were supposed to have handover on Friday 13th May but bank didn't have our cheque in time so it ended up being on Monday 16th which was extremely annoying as I had the air con company booked in on the Monday to installed our ducted but had to reschedule, luckily they had time the next day. Our ducted was installed on Tuesday 17th we installed a Fujitsu 12.5kw ducted system with round grills. 

I had organised for our appliances to be delivered on Thursday 19th and installed Friday 20th, they were delivered on the Thursday but no one came to install so we went a week without hot water. 

We installed a TV antenna which cost $290 to supply the antenna as well. 

So far so good, long process to get everything done, still unpacking currently. 
We have had drive way done and yard excavated waiting for bobcat and turf. 
We also finished our deck in the alfresco and have our clothesline up.

Locked Out!

We've been locked out! Relieved things are moving along, sad I won't be able to let myself in to inspect now. We have a walk through organised for Thursday. We could see from the windows that the kitchen cabinets have been installed but not finished. Bathrooms have been waterproofed but can't see if the vanities have been installed yet. Tilers should arrive next week 21/03. 

Frame & Roof Completed

The frame was put up very quickly, it was completed on the 25th November. The gutters and roof were completed by the 8th December. We had a few issues with our bricks not being available and machinery at the brick yard was broken so we had to go with our second option. The bricks were delivered on the 22nd December just before the Christmas break. Hopefully will get started as soon as they are back.

It's Started!

Block of land was excavated on Friday 6th November, piers were poured on Monday 9th. Wednesday 11th Pipes were done and on Friday 13th when I went for a look the slab was done. I'm hoping we will have a frame up before they close for Christmas.

                           

Letter of Commencement

House was approved by council on 1st September 2015. We then signed our contract on the 24th September. Our letter of commencement was received by allworth today being the 6th October. So our house should be starting on 3rd November which is 20 working days from today. Had a few hiccups along the way but hopefully that is all out of the way now and we can have a smooth build.
